Don Juilan - Savage! (1973)

1. Title Theme: Savage
2. Lay It On Your Head
3. Where I'm Coming From
4. It's A Sad Song
5. My Favourite Beer Joint
6. Janitizio
7. Just Kiss Me
Don Julian wrote the music to this violent action film for the tiny Californian label Money Records. It's a raw, early 70's funk album with many great instrumental tracks recorded with a low, dirty sound. At its best, the album is small group funk overlayed with flute. Try "Lay It On Your Head" for a lesson in soundtrack funk as it should be done.

Right-on! Thanks for this killer album. Lots of percussion, flute and action grooves. Raw & real. Bet!
